The Bolivians formed their own Federación de Excombatientes de la Guerra del Chaco after the war. To mark the 75th anniversary of the ceasefire, in 2010 the Bolivian cabinet decreed the payment of a one-off bonus to surviving veterans, and a 5 percent increase in their lifetime pension; this increase would benefit about 655 veterans, 72 disabled veterans, and 6,205 widows of deceased veterans. The numbers of surviving Bolivian veterans are comparable to those in Paraguay; roughly 5,000 were alive in 2004, and just under 3,000 in 2010.
